Become A Certified Junior Master Gardener! All hours are accumulative, but will start when you join our Leaf & Vine Club. To certify at this level you need to:
Get 15 service hours.
You get service credit if you help plan, plant and maintain a bed in The Teaching Patch, or help an elderly neighbor in their yard.
You get service credit if you volunteer at a food or plant related organization, such as the Sevier Co Food Ministry or the National Park Service. You need to get at least 15 service hours and record them in your log. Talk with one of your leaders about your service projects. |
Get 5 leadership credits.
You can present a topic at our L&V meeting or help with The Buds or Little Sprouts.
You can get leadership credit if your help organize a service project. Your planning time also counts toward your hours. You need to get at least 5 leadership hours and record them in your log. Talk with one of your leaders about your leadership projects. |
Get 20 education credits.
You get education credits when you do the assignments or projects at home for the next meeting. Ask for help when you need it, but don't be afraid to just dive in!
You can also get education credits for any classes you do outside of the club that pertain to our topics. Consider attending events like the Wilderness Wildlife Week in PF in May! You need to get at least 20 education hours and record them in your log. It will take more than one year if you just rely on meetings. What other events can you attend and count? JMG Camp? 4H? Lots of things in our community, too! |
