Free Program For kids!
The group meets the first and third Wednesday of the month from 4:00-5:30 at the UT Extension Office. All students ages 7-14 are invited to attend,
at UT Extension 752 Old Knoxville Highway, Sevierville.
The Cherokee called this land Shaconage (pronounced Sha-Kon-O-Hey) meaning "Land of Blue Smoke". The Smoky Mountains are one of the most diverse biomes on the planet. One of the goals of JMG is to understand our environment, so our fall program will look at what makes up the Great Smoky Mountains. This will include the exploration of the ecosystems within the area, food chain and the plants and animals that make our area so diverse.
