The Buds JMG Club does a lot of hands-on learning.  The curriculum comes from Texas A&M University, and includes botany, gardening, conservation and craft projects, plus service projects in the community.  This group is for 3rd - 5th Grade.

The leader for The Buds is Tammie Browning.  Ms. Tammie is a Sevier County Master Gardener, and a very talented home school mom.  Thanks for leading this fun group, Ms. Tammie!

The Bud's will find themselves with endless learning opportunities through hands on activities and service learning projects.  Here is a sample of the areas your student may get experience:

*Opportunity for numbers field trips related to gardening, nature. wildlife, and
         conservation throughout the year.
*Outside class opportunities at places like Wilderness Wildlife Week, UT
Gardens, and ranger led classes by Great Smoky Mountains National Park,
City landscape department, and Keep Sevier Beautiful just to name a few.
*Planning, preparing, and working a booth at the Master Gardener Plant sale
         in April.
*Planning, planting, working, and maintaining a garden area at the Master
Gardener Demo Garden, The Teaching Patch.
*First pick at attending the JMG Summer Camp in June.
*Attend and/or work the Junior Lunch & Learn Series in July.
*Plan, prepare, and show plants and projects at the Sevier County Fair.
*Service projects working in gardens in our community, helping our local food
         ministry, and many more.
*At this age group we also try to start encouraging leadership in helping with
         our younger JMG students.
